Externalize the manuscript state
Maintain an argument outline, source-backed claim list, glossary, editorial constraints and chapter briefs. Each drafting step receives the relevant subset, and review compares local text against those shared artifacts rather than trusting the model to remember the entire manuscript.

Example: one concept changes meaning
Chapter 2 defines verification as independent evidence checking, but Chapter 8 casually uses verification to mean 'ask the model again'. A glossary and claim ledger expose the semantic drift during review before the inconsistency becomes embedded across the book.
